EBANX unveils EBANX ONE, its ultimate payments platform for global companies in Latin America

EBANX ONE is a one-stop-shop solution that allows global companies to expand operations when and where they want in the LatAm region, and to switch and/or combine operational models according to their preference
CURITIBA, BRAZIL, May 24, 2021 – Payments fintech company EBANX has announced today EBANX ONE, its ultimate payments solution for global companies in Latin America. EBANX ONE is presented as a proprietary and unique payment platform that allows global companies with local or international operations to connect to hundreds of payment methods in Latin America, in all 15 countries where EBANX operates – including the newly launched operations in Central America & Caribbean, and Paraguay.
For the first time, EBANX ONE offers hybrid combinations of operational models in only one system integration: payment processing with international and/or domestic settlement, domestic and international payout. While seemingly simple, behind the scenes, though, the ability to effortlessly connect to the platform is a culmination of ground-breaking work from the fintech’s experts.
Through the platform, one company can sell in LatAm countries, in local currency, and receive the settlement of collected payments in US dollars anywhere in the world, without the need of a local entity. It is also possible to settle in China, in CNY. Simultaneously, the same company can sell locally in LatAm countries and receive its balance domestically, also in local currency.
All of this means that EBANX' merchants can rely on its services not only for cross-border payments but also for local transactions – including support for the end customer in the local language. With EBANX ONE, companies can expand to anywhere in Latin America, one of the fastest-growing digital markets in the world, quickly adding or switching between countries and operational models.
"Through our unique connections with issuers, acquirers and card schemes, and our technology, we can deliver efficiency and special payment projects that are tailored for enterprise companies – and now with the flexibility of choice given back to them to implement global operational models or test new ones in the region," said João Del Valle, co-founder and CEO at EBANX. "Moreover, EBANX ONE offers 75-90% approval rates in Latin America. This is huge since international acquiring solutions hardly reach 50%. Most importantly, the platform supports more than 300 payment transactions per second, taking only one second, on average, to respond to requests," he detailed. EBANX ONE is live and already being used by some of the largest fintech's clients.
Founded in 2012, EBANX processes payments for large and middle-sized global companies that sell their products and services to Latin Americans, including Spotify, Uber, AliExpress, and over 1,000 more. The launch of EBANX ONE, more than offering a unique solution, is also revolutionizing the business model of EBANX itself. "This is not about a new feature; this is about a new EBANX," said Del Valle. So far, EBANX has grown at around 40% per year. In the next three years, with EBANX ONE and the expansion into new markets in Latin America, the company expects to increase its processing volume fivefold.
The definitive gateway for alternative payment methods
In a region where only half (54.4%) of the adult population has a banking account, offering alternative payment methods to the credit card is crucial. That is the motto behind EBANX's creation and which, even after the digital financial inclusion driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, remains true.
"With the ongoing financial revolution in Latin America, what we have is more alternative local payment methods available to a larger number of people who have just been introduced to the world of online consumption," stresses Del Valle. In that sense, LatAm's largest digital wallets, such as Mercado Pago, PicPay, Nequi, and MACH, are just a few of the newest options added to EBANX's portfolio. Connecting directly to these methods would be much more complicated and costly for global companies than solely integrating with EBANX ONE.
In 2020, EBANX intermediated over 145 million transactions, a 38% increase over 2019, the year the fintech's market valuation surpassed USD 1 billion. According to EBANX's Beyond Borders study, Latin America is the second fastest-growing e-commerce market worldwide, reaching USD 200 billion in volume and expected to grow 19% in 2021.
What are the main features of the new EBANX ONE platform
EBANX ONE is a unique payment solution in the market, differentiated by being a single platform that makes hybrid choices of payment, operational models and countries. Besides the payment processing features detailed previously, EBANX ONE also integrates a payout solution that can be made locally or internationally.
To make it possible, EBANX ONE unifies all payment methods, flows and operations in one single platform, which means merchants who operate on the same e-commerce website with domestic and international sales can offer a single checkout to customers with products from both local and international sellers.
The flow of the money is also optimized and can be chosen by the merchant. A global reconciliation grants the reintegration of merchants' millions of transactions. Adding to this, EBANX ONE is also the ultimate solution to manage sales in multiple currencies and countries across Latin America, offering a unified settlement, through trusted payment networks for every merchant, combining all payment methods and operations of every single merchant within Latin America.
Using high-technology and database, EBANX integrated fraud and risk management is also a differentiator, by keeping the merchant's operation safe in all purchase steps, in all countries, meanwhile balancing security with optimal payment performance, with a much lower chargeback rate regionwide: EBANX's was 0.42% in 2020 in all LatAm countries, whereas the benchmark rate for the region was 1.7%.
EBANX ONE tech platform availability is more than 99.97%, and its average response time is 1 second. This means that merchants can process a huge volume of transactions in all Latin America, and will still be able to operate smoothly, and safely. EBANX ONE also operates as a single endpoint for payments, using the same technological base for both international and local operations. This time-saving can be an average of 250 dev hours for each new payment method integration, considering steps like integrating with the API, reconciliation, and homologation.
EBANX ONE is fully compliant with global data protection laws, as well as with all the data laws within every single Latin American market where it operates, and includes on the solution a comprehensive compliance framework to operate in the region. In addition to the payments solution, EBANX ONE is integrated with all the other offers from EBANX specially designed for global companies to seize the full potential of Latin America, such as Customer Services, localization consulting, market intelligence services, and marketing support.
