Peruvian customers can now subscribe to Prime Video paying in Peruvian Sol using domestic debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards. The additional payment options are part of the growing collaboration between the two companies in Latin America

CURITIBA, BRAZIL, July 26, 2021 – Now Peruvian customers can pay for their Amazon Prime Video subscription in Peruvian Sol, rather than U.S. dollars, using local payment methods like domestic debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards. The ability for Prime Video to offer payments in Peruvian Sol was enabled by EBANX, a Brazilian fintech company that offers payment solutions for global brands and specializes in Latin America.

For just S/16.99 per month, customers can enjoy Prime Video’s extensive catalog of critically acclaimed Amazon Original and Exclusive series like The Boys, Súbete A Mi Moto and El Internado Las Cumbres, and movies like Coming 2 America and the award-winning Sound of Metal, along with thousands of hours of hit series, movies, documentaries and children's content with both subtitles and dubbing in Spanish.

"Localized solutions deeply improve the online purchasing experience for Peruvians and all Latin Americans, helping them to access the best services around the world – in addition to broadening the total addressable market of companies in the LatAm region. And this two-way street of access is precisely what we work for everyday at EBANX," said João Del Valle, co-founder and CEO of EBANX. "That is why we are very excited about this collaboration with Amazon Prime Video in Peru.

The fast growth of Peru’s video-streaming market

Peru has one of the highest rates of newcomers to digital commerce in the region, a direct result of the digitization process that took place in the country during the pandemic. The growth rates in the video-streaming services vertical are impressive: 83 percent of consumers in Peru bought at least one type of video-streaming service in 2020, according to a report by Sherlock Communications.

"As a payments company operating in Peru, we are really happy to witness and be an active part of this transformation at the same time," said Del Valle.
